This section includes a list of Associations focused on specific areas of interest to those engaged in business process change. Each organization is identified in terms of their primary focus. We provide URL's for all Associations listed. We will update and refine this list as we continue to learn more about existing and new Associations.   • AIIM International- Association for those interested in management of documents and content. Active in workflow, business process management, and knowledge management.

  • Amer. Society for Quality (ASQ)- Leading organization for those interested in Six Sigma. ASQ has a Six Sigma Discussion Group and sponsors the leading Six Sigma conference.

  • BPM-Forum (Europe)- BPM-Forum (Europe) - The BPM-Forum is the neutral expert platform on Business Process Managment. The forum was initially founded in the Netherlands in 2003 and was soon able to expand to form a seperate Belgium chapter. It aims to raise the awareness of the value and contribution which BPM can make to any organisation. This is achieved by bringing together members from the academic, user and supplier community. The BPM-Forum chapters provides bi-monthly meetings for the local BPM community where best practices, case studies and the theorectical background information is presented. These sessions vary in location and end with a social event. The website www.bpm-forum.org is a portal to the local events and international information on BPM. The BPM-Forum also provides its members discounts to various BPM events like workshops and external seminars. The BPM-Forum is endorsed by top local academic and business professionals.   • BR Community- BR Community is a select specialized site dedicated to Business Rule Professionals. It is a vertical community where Business Rule professionals can go to share ideas and find information. It features the widely respected Business Rules Journal free of charge. Regular columnists include John Zachman, Chris Date and Ronald G. Ross. The site also offers professional articles, product reviews, book reviews, event calendar, vendor lists, and more.

  • Business Process Management Initiative (BPMI.org)- Standards group that created BPML, a BPMS language, and BPMN, a standard workflow notation that can be used with BPML, BPEL and other business process languages.

  • Institute for Process Management- The Institute has recently been formed to help organizations improve the results of their process management and change activities. This exciting new forum provides access to the best thinking on process management and a network of peers with whom to share best practices. Located at Babson College and under the overall direction of Tom Davenport, the Institute (1) conducts leading-edge, high quality research on the management of business processes that is practical, timely and relevant, (2) provides a forum to network with peers and exchange ideas, (3) provides early access to research results, (4) provides access to Institute researchers and Babson faculty and (5) provides custom executive education and materials.

  • International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI)- ISPI members focus on technologies for improving human performance, including techniques for job analysis, the measurement of performance and incentive systems. Annual conference, workshops, and a email newsletter.

  • Object Management Group (OMG)- The OMG is an international standards organization that focuses on software integration. Their best known standards are CORBA (object middleware), UML (modeling notation), XMI (XML language for passing diagrams between modeling tools) and the Model Driven Architecture (MDA), a set of standards for generating software from abstract UML models. The OMG supports many associated industry specfic standards as well.

  • Product Development and Management Assoc. (PDMA)- PDMA is an organization of some 2,000 professionals who are concerned with product design, development and redesign processes. They have initiated work on an OR framework for product development and management.

  • Sourcing Interests Group (SIG)- The SIG is a consortium of some 140 comapnies who share insights into the outsourcing market. A good source of information and meetings on Business Process Outsourcing.

  • Supply Chain Council (SCC)- The Supply Chain Council is an association of some 700 companies, worldwide, that work together to share information on supply chain development. SCC has created a popular generic approach to describing and developing supply chains, called SCOR. SCOR is used by several companies and supported by a wide vareity of vendors. The SCC sponsors several major conferences each year and distributes a newsletter.

  • The Workflow Management Coalition- The Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) has over 230 member organizations worldwide, representing all facets of workflow, from vendors to users, and from academics to consultants.
